Joyce Wohead - Violin, Viola, and Cello
Joyce Wohead has been playing the violin for 16 years. She began playing in 4th grade as a student in the Indian Prairie School District and graduated from Waubonsie Valley High School in 2006. Joyce then went on to earn a bachelor’s degree with honors in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2010. For the past two years, Joyce served as an orchestra director in the Elkhart Community Schools in Elkhart, Indiana where she taught students from 6th-12th grade. While in college, Joyce taught after school weekly violin and cello lessons in the Whitewater Public Schools in Whitewater, Wisconsin. She has also been teaching private string lessons for 9 years with students ranging from 5-18 years of age. Joyce continues to be an active performer as well. She has been a member of the Wheaton Symphony Orchestra for the past 7 seven years and performed with the Elkhart County Symphony Orchestra for 2 years. While in college, she was a member of the Whitewater Symphony Orchestra, Whitewater Chamber Orchestra, and the pit orchestra. Joyce’s greatest passion is having the opportunities to share her love and talent for music to other aspiring musicians.
